About Chanfi

Chanfi near Nainital and Bhimtal, Uttarakhand) is well known for its rustic farms. It benefits from a moderate climate, mid-level altitudes (4,500 feet above sea level) and a spring-fed river as the water source. The farms here produce a lot of the quite season vegetables, as well as English vegetables & salad leaves for export. It also has several horticulture farms exporting carnations, lilium and other cut-flowers. Because of its remote location, Chanfi has little tourist traffic. It is set in a deep valley and the more beautiful parts are accessed by foot on village paths and tracks. The surrounding hills are dense with forest and the area is well-known in ornithologist circles for many rare birds. It is also not surprising to spot the occasional wild deer & other wildlife from the comfort of your balcony.
